Online Access Security

Access to PlanHQ is protected via a username and password. Only once you successfully login to PlanHQ via your unique PlanHQ site address can you access your private Plan. Each plan on PlanHQ has it’s own secure partition, so there’s no chance that another PlanHQ customer will be able to see any of your plan data.

SSL Encryption

All PlanHQ accounts except the mini pricing plan use SSL (Secure Socket Layer). For details see: Pricing and Sign-up.

PlanHQ uses SSL to encrypt the information passing between the browser and the server to stop hackers from accessing your data while it travels over the internet between PlanHQ and you.

Secure Financial Information

Limit who in your team can see your company’s financial information. Allow management team members to see everything and other staff to either see only the summary information or nothing at all.

PlanHQ is hosted by Engine Yard who manage not only the hosting facility which is a purpose built, high availability hosting facilities hosting many other mission critical business applications, but also full 24x7 operational monitoring and systems administration services. People

Engine Yard provides staff 24 hours a day. The hosting facilities maintain a very high standard of physical security with all access restricted by card access with 24x7 video surveillance, and is regularly patrolled by security personnel. In the event that an issue arises with the hardware that runs PlanHQ, PlanHQ staff can liase with data centre staff on the ground to resolve issues and where required PlanHQ can swiftly move to restore the secondary backup site.

Data Storage

The PlanHQ database is hosted on 2 replicated Database servers which are both attached to a Storage Area Network, so your data is managed on a fully redundant hardware platform where there is no single point of failure. These storage systems accommodate multiple hard disks and are fault tolerant. In the event of a hard disk failure, the system will keep working with no data loss. The hard disks can be hot-swapped meaning that a technician can replace a faulty drive while the storage system is still working without data loss. 

 

Back-ups and Recovery

Your business and financial data is very important and we have several mechanisms in place to ensure that should a disaster occur, we can recover quickly with minimal disruption to your PlanHQ service.

Automated Off-site Back-ups

All PlanHQ customer data is automatically backed-up on to a Storage Area Network (SAN) in the data centre where the servers that run PlanHQ are located. To further protect PlanHQ from a disaster that could occur in the data centre, every 4 hours all your data is sent securely to a secondary back-up data centre, located in a different city. This ensures that we can recover from a major disaster in a reasonable timeframe with very minimal data loss if any.
